By the favour of the Matsuura Europe Gmbh and based on the agreement between the SZIMKER Zrt. (the Hungarian dealer of the machine) and the BME Department of Manufacturing Science and Engineering a new unique Lumex Avance-25 type hybrid machine tool was placed in the Laboratory of the Department. The speciality of this equipment is that two machining processes can be combined in the same working area, the metal laser sintering and the high-speed milling. As the result of this combination, complicated geometries and more flexible manufacturing can be achieved especially in mold production. More details can be learned in the YouTube video:
