Guest Lecture on Industrial Digitalization at the Department by Dr. Zoltán Sas

Posted on 2025.12.15.2025.12.13. By Takács Donát

On 11 December 2025, our Department hosted Dr. Zoltán Sas (Bosch Rexroth Ltd.), who delivered a lecture on industrial digitalization to our students and faculty members. The presentation covered a wide range of interesting topics, including a brief historical overview, the toolbox of industrial digitalization, current trends, and the key steps involved in implementing an industrial digitalization project, with particular attention paid to typical pitfalls. The practical examples drawn from industrial experience provided an excellent complement to the theoretical knowledge conveyed in traditional university lectures. We would like to thank our guest for the engaging and insightful presentation.

Following the lecture, we had the opportunity to review the recent achievements of the partnership between Bosch Rexroth and our Department, with special emphasis on the development of the Bosch Rexroth Active Assist workstation, and to jointly discuss possible directions and forms of future collaboration. We are confident that this partnership will continue and expand in the long term to the mutual satisfaction of both parties.

As part of this partnership, this year marked the third consecutive year (since its opening) in which we organized student visits to the Bosch Rexroth CU.BE experience center. During this year’s three visits, our students were introduced to state-of-the-art technologies in the fields of industrial automation and industrial hydraulics. We would like to thank Bosch Rexroth for the opportunity and for the enjoyable and comprehensive guided tours.

The guest lecture and the company visits were organized within the framework of the course Cyber-Physical Manufacturing Systems (BMEGEGTBM71), offered under the Cyber-Physical Systems specialization of the BSc program in Mechatronics Engineering.
