On 3 February, 19 faculty members and students from the Department of Manufacturing Science and Engineering at BME participated in the DMG MORI Open House 2026 event in Pfronten, Germany. In addition to freely exploring the exhibition grounds and the latest advancements in cutting (including technologies incorporating laser- and ultrasonic assisted processes) and additive machine tools, as well as related automation and digitalization solutions, the delegation also took part in a factory tour organised specifically for the BME DMSE group. The programme further included a presentation of the DMG MORI Academy training centre and multiple technical seminars.
On 4 February, the delegation continued the program with a plant visit and technology and machine demonstrations at HAIMER, a partner of DMG MORI, whose facility produces approximately 4,000 tool holders per day.
We would like to thank DMG MORI Hungary for the invitation, the excellent organization, and the warm hospitality.
To illustrate the scale, attendance, and technical scope of the exhibition, the following figures are available based on data from the 2024 event:
• 7,000 visitors from 35 countries, including 400 students
• Exhibition duration: two weeks
• Exhibition area: 4,200 m²
• Exhibited technologies: more than 45 high-end machines and over 20 automation solutions
