The Laboratory of the Department enriched an OKUMA SpaceTurn LB3000EX II machine tool. This new machine will be part of the BME Cyber-Physical Production System to introduce the Industry 4.0 solutions in a realistic, industry-like environment. The new machine tool was set up, the colleagues started to work on it, but the integration is the future task. We plan to use this turning centre for teaching, research and producing parts; one unique feature of this machine is that gear machining is also available because of its controlling software and structural design.
