Design of a spindle bearings test pad
The main objective is to build a bearing test pad that is able to simulate the load cases similar to that of the milling spindles of machine tools, and with which the load and condition of the bearings can be measured and recorded. In the future we want to calculate and predict the reliability and maintainability parameters based on the historical data. The first step of this will be the mechanical and mechatronic design of the test pad. First, a typical spindle bearing solution should be designed; secondly, a mechanism should be designed that is able to load the bearing in a controlled manner; thirdly, the placement of sensors should be designed.
